    Matrix Partners adds entrepreneur Rodriguez to VC firm
    Serial entrepreneur Antonio Rodriguez announced on his blog this morning that he will take a general partner position at Waltham venture capital firm Matrix Partners.
    Ky. software startup Backupify moving to Boston
    Back up the moving truck right here: Louisville, Ky. software startup Backupify Inc. has raised $1.1 million and is coming to Boston. The 2-year-old startup has developed software designed to back up data stored in cloud-based services like Google Inc.’s Gmail, or the photo sharing service Flickr.
    Correlsense corrals $8M in Series B money
    Framingham firm Correlsense Ltd. has taken in $8 million in a Series B funding round led by Accel Partners and including existing backers Vertex Venture Capital, eXceed Technology and ProSeed Ventures.

    Web startup RunMyErrand to move execs west
    After winning West Coast VC cash and a spot in Facebook Inc.’s startup incubator program, RunMyErrand Inc. is moving its top three startup executives to a new office in San Francisco; but founder Leah Busque said the move may not be permanent.

    Battery Ventures closes $750M ninth fund
    After less than half a year on the fundraising trail, Battery Ventures closed its ninth fund, Battery IX, at $750 million. At its final close, Battery IX is equal in size to Battery VIII, which closed in July 2007.

    Report: Mobile VC dollars plummeted in 2009
    Venture capital dollars stayed away from mobile technology companies in droves in 2009, according to a report issued yesterday by Mobile Monday Boston. VCs put $338.65 million into local mobile plays in 2009, slightly more than half of 2008’s number of $565.28 million.
