    Ky. software startup Backupify moving to Boston
    Back up the moving truck right here: Louisville, Ky. software startup Backupify Inc. has raised $1.1 million and is coming to Boston. The 2-year-old startup has developed software designed to back up data stored in cloud-based services like Google Inc.’s Gmail, or the photo sharing service Flickr.

    Systematics bought by Maryland firm
    Systematics Inc., a maker of on-premises systems for records storage and management based in Westborough, has been acquired by National Office Systems of Maryland and will be officially renamed National Office Systems, New England Inc.

    Hasbro chairman Verrecchia joins Iron Mountain board
    Iron Mountain Inc. has appointed Hasbro Inc. board chairman Alfred J. Verrecchia as its 11th member of the board of directors. Verrecchia is a career-long Hasbro veteran who previously served as CEO of the Rhode Island toy and game maker.

    Netezza nabs NEC as development partner
    Netezza Corp. of Marlborough has entered into a development deal with Japanese technology giant NEC Corp. under which the two companies will co-develop NEC-branded data warehouse appliances that will first be sold in Japan and the Asia Pacific region, but eventually will be marketed by NEC worldwide.
    Schwartz posts Sun resignation on Twitter
    Sun Microsystems Inc. CEO Jonathan Schwartz, one of the first big company CEOs to aggressively adopt social media, posted his resignation on Twitter at about midnight East Coast time Wednesday. The resignation follows Sun's official acquisition by Oracle Corp. last week.
