    GlassHouse acquires UK virtualization firm
    IT consulting firm GlassHouse Technologies Inc. said Tuesday it has acquired Systems Group Integration Ltd., a British virtualization consulting company. The deal expands the firm’s relationships with vendors such as Dell and Microsoft, as well as increase its offerings in helping firms run virtual servers or desktops.

    Charlestown IT consulting giant Keane Inc. has named John W. McCain its new president and CEO. McCain joins the company having previously worked for Hewlett-Packard Co., most recently as senior vice president and general manager of HP Services.

    GlassHouse withdraws IPO
    IT consulting firm GlassHouse Technologies Inc. has withdrawn its initial public offering, citing “current market conditions” as the reason, in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The company announced its IPO registration in December 2007, when it expressed hopes of raising $100 million.

    Google Inc. is preparing to launch a new service that allows information technology firms to resell Google Apps to enterprise customers, and Westborough-based Horizon Info Services LLC reports it is the only New England company chosen by Google so far to participate in the program.
