    Interactive Data finishes Boxborough data center expansion
    Interactive Data Corp. said it has completed the expansion of its East Coast data center in Boxborough.The 50,000 square-foot facility was upgraded to not only increase server and storage capacity, but to upgrade the center’s power and cooling infrastructure.

    Amesbury startup Viridity Software Inc. has raised $7 million in a first financing round with investment from Waltham firms Battery Ventures and North Bridge Venture Partners, according to Viridity officials.
    Wave Systems cuts majority of WaveXpress staff
    Wave Systems Corp. will lay off about 12 employees at WaveXpress, cutting its majority-owned subsidiary down to two or three staff, a spokesman said. Headquartered in New York with offices in California, WaveXpress provided the TVTonic consumer media service.

    Enterprise software giant EMC Corp. has spun off recent acquisitions Mozy Inc. and Pi Corp. into a new personal data security company to be called Decho Corp. The company will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Hopkinton-based EMC, officials said.

    The Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulations has announced an extension to state data privacy regulations, now set to go into effect May 1, 2009. Compliance with data encryption standards was originally scheduled to begin on Jan. 1, 2009.
