For Boston-based iCorps Technologies Inc., giving back means volunteering, donating funds, but mostly it means offering its technology services at reduced costs (or even free) to nonprofits that need tech help but can’t afford to move valuable funding resources away from the good work that they do.

That philosophy has been part of iCorps since it launched, but the company and its employees know that now it is needed more than ever. “This year, the importance of giving back is even more critical, given the state of the economy, the weakened nonprofit sector, and the growing number of people in need,” said Mike Hadley, president and CEO of iCorps.

Even when it donates its time and effort to helping nonprofits, iCorps doesn’t skimp on the creativity. The company has won a Non-Profit Standard of Excellence award from the Web Marketing Association for a website design it created for Boston’s Fourth of July event. And iCorps commits to help for the long haul. One organization that iCorps has helped out for nearly a decade is Peace at Home, a Boston-based nonprofit fighting domestic violence.
