24 Tech Companies That Give Back to the Community

Comcast Corp.

Just as Comcast Corp. delivers entertainment and information to households and businesses across New England, the company is helping to deliver progress for causes like literacy, youth development, diversity and volunteerism.

Comcast offers financial support for community programs; employee volunteering; and donations of cable TV and high-speed Internet services to schools, libraries, Boys & Girls Clubs and other organizations across New England.

Because the company’s operations are managed locally, Comcast and its more than 6,000 New England employees can identify communities where its resources can make the biggest difference, said Steve Hackley, senior vice president of Comcast’s Greater Boston region, which includes eastern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine.

“Comcast employees are committed to rolling up our sleeves and pitching in, because these are our communities too,” Hackley said. “We take this responsibility very seriously and we’re already out there in 2009, putting our employees, technology and financial resources to work.”
