Four Mangos giving bears fruit

Neil C. Fennessey Fennessey

Four Mangos Inc. prides itself on strengthening nonprofits, sometimes for free. About one third of its revenue comes from nonprofits, according to Neil C. Fennessey, the president and CEO. But the Cambridge-based marketing and web design firm doesn’t just help any nonprofit finish its project. That’s because most nonprofits have the financial means to finish them.

“The nonprofit has to move us,” Fennessey said. “We know our efforts are going to truly help them.” They find the nonprofits through what Fennessey calls “a trusted circle of friends,” a system that has worked for the last four years. The nonprofit Four Mangos sponsored this year was the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, who was introduced through a company friend. Fennessey said Four Mangos plans to continue its relationship with the orchestra next year.

Four Mangos was also the lead sponsor of a free concert on Aug. 22 at the Hatch Shell. Over 8,000 people attended, according to the company’s website. A drawing was held so three people could get on stage and play the theme to “Harry Potter.” Three children, including two sisters, won, Fennessey said. They went home with “Harry Potter” merchandise.

Fennessey leads the company in taking an active role in the community.

“It’s being a good responsible member of the business community — a good neighbor. You never know when you’re going to need their services someday.”
