Harvard Bioscience Inc., a maker of scientific instruments and apparatuses, continues its small buying spree with its latest acquisition of AHN Biotechnologie GmbH of Germany, announced today in a news release. The Holliston company made the buy through its wholly owned subsidiary Biochrom Ltd., a developer of molecular biology instruments.
AHN manufactures plastic consumable laboratory products. Harvard Bioscience President David Green noted in the release that the acquisition will give the company a base in Germany for its molecular biology business.
Harvard Bioscience (Nasdaq: HBIO) bought out another company, Swedish microdialysis product maker CMA Microdialysis AB, in July 2011.
And in August 2010, the company acquired Coulbourn Instruments, a Pennsylvania-based behavioral measurement products developer.
Harvard Bioscience operates such brands as Biochrom, Hoefer, Panlab, Warner Instruments, KD Scientific, Hugo Sachs Elektronik, Scie-Plas, BTX and Denville Scientific.
