Pipeline Fellowship adds three to women's angel investing program
By Mary Moore, Boston Business Journal
The Pipeline Fellowship, a program that trains women to be angel investors, launches its inaugural class in Boston in December with several prominent local women among the first class of fellows. The fellows are:
* Susan Duffy, executive director of the Center for Women’s Leadership, Babson College
* Janet Simpson Benvenuti, president and CEO of Circle of Life Partners and president of the Benvenuti Family Foundation;
* Linda Pizzuti Henry, director of the Red Sox Foundation.
The Pipeline Fellowship is a six-month program for women to learn the fundamentals of vetting and funding startups and for a group of mentors to help guide them through the process. Each of the fellows pays $3,500 to be in the program and commits another $5,000 to invest with the rest of the fellows in a woman-led for-profit venture with a social mission.In addition, the program has a Boston Pipeline Fellowship Conference scheduled for December 2, sponsored by Goodwin Procter.
