Physician resources startup Kyruus raises $3M

By Michelle Lang

Kyruus Inc., a startup developing software to match physicians with health care resources, has raised $3 million in an equity funding round aimed at $3.1 million, the company indicated in a regulatory filing today.

The Boston firm, founded in 2010, uses a data-driven software platform, based on the “virtual footprints” of physicians provided through information sources, that can be used to connect doctors with other doctors or patients.

The $3 million funding round brought in six unnamed investors. Its list of related persons included its board members – Bob Higgins, co-founder and general partner of Highland Capital Partners; Alexander Saint-Amand, president and CEO of Gerson Lehrman Group; and Bryan Roberts, partner at Venrock.

The company previously raised $5.5 million in a June Series A funding round, led by the same investors.

Kyruus itself was co-founded in 2010 by CEO Graham Gardner, the co-founder of SynapDx and Generation Health, and chief product officer Julie Yoo, former vice president of clinical product strategy at Generation Health. The company’s chief technology officer, Vinay Seth Mohta, worked for Kayak Software and previously was CTO of Generation Health.
