

Hologic Inc. has appointed to its board of directors Christiana Stamoulis, the senior vice president of corporate strategy and business development at Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc.
Stamoulis is expected to join Hologic’s Corporate Development Committee.
A veteran of pharmaceutical and biotechnology advising, she previously worked as managing director in the investment banking division of Citigroup as part of the company’s U.S. Life Sciences investment banking practice. Stamoulis has earned bachelor’s degrees in economics and architecture from MIT and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Bedford-based Hologic (Nasdaq:HOLX) makes women-focused diagnostics products, medical imaging systems and surgical products. The company announced in June that it had acquired TCT International Co. Ltd., a medical products distributor in Beijing, for $135 million in cash. In February, the company won approval for its 3-D digital mammography systems from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its Selenia Dimensions digital breast tomosynthesis system, marketed as Dimensions 3-D – the first such system given the OK, the company said.
