Billerica research equipment maker Bruker Corp. (Nasdaq: BRKR) reports that William J. Knight will again assume the role of CFO for the company, while continuing to serve as its interim COO.
Knight had previously served as the CFO for Bruker from October of 2004 until February of 2010, when then chief accounting officer Brian Monahan replaced him as CFO so Knight could assume the COO position.
The release from Bruker did not say anything about why Knight was replacing Monahan. A release from the company in June said that Monahan was stepping down as CFO for personal reasons, to spend more time with his family. He took the position of vice president of strategic & financial planning.
Bruker said that it would look for permanent “senior operational executives” to eventually replace Knght in the COO position.
In October 2010, Bruker closed its $229.4 million cash acquisition of the Veeco Instruments Inc.’s Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and the Optical Industrial Metrology (OIM) instruments businesses. That deal brought more than 350 employees into Bruker AXS Group’s Bruker Nano Division.
Bruker makes research instruments for the life science, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and molecular diagnostics industries.
