Zygo Corp. has landed $6 million in metrology systems orders from two Chinese optical research and manufacturing organizations.
The Middlefield, Conn.-based company is a global supplier of design and manufacturing services, optical metrology instruments and precision optics — all intended for the biomedical, scientific, semiconductor capital equipment and industrial markets.
Zygo said the $6 million in orders are for its aperture interferometers and its optics measurement systems for spherical optics over 12 inches in diameter.
In July, Zygo (Nasdaq: ZIGO) landed an extension order — and $3 million to go along with it — from France’s Commissariat à l’énergie atomique (CEA) for its meter class laser fusion amplifiers.
President and CEO Chris Koliopoulos took the reins of Zygo in January 2010, taking over from J. Bruce Robinson who retired from the post.
