Captivate Network Inc., a Chelmsford digital media company that puts media content onto video screens in elevators, has picked former Fast Company and Newsweek U.S. publisher Patrick Hagerty as its new chief revenue officer.
Hagerty, a sales and marketing veteran with more than 25 years of experience, most recently he was U.S. publisher and vice president of sales at Newsweek, where, according to release from Captivate, he grew digital revenue 540 percent over an eight-year period. Prior to Newsweek he served as senior vice president at Primedia Inc. and served as publisher of US News and World Report and Fast Company for more than 11 years. Hagerty was a launch team member of Fast Company, which was one of the fastest-growing business magazines in the late-1990s.
Captivate CEO Mike DiFranza said in the release, “We’re very excited to have someone with his background and expertise fueling our ongoing growth.”
Founded in 1997, Captivate now has a network of nearly 10,000 office elevator displays. The company was acquired by Gannett Co. in 2004. Virginia-based Gannett is an international news and information company that publishes 101 daily newspapers in the U.S., including USA Today, the nation’s largest-selling daily newspaper.
