AdvaMed, a medical technology event regularly held in Washington D.C. since 2007, is branching out in 2012 to Boston – the first city outside of the nation’s capitol to host the event.
AdvaMed is an annual conference to showcase medical technology and devices in the industry. The 2011 show, to be held in DC from September 26 to September 28, is expected to draw 1,900 attendees from 30 states and 20 countries. AdvaMed 2012 will be hosted at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center from October 1 to October 3, 2012.
“Choosing Boston was an easy decision, because this metropolitan area is so critical to the health of the medical technology industry and the life-saving, life-changing products it makes,” Kenneth Mendez, senior executive vice president and chief administrative officer of AdvaMed, the Advanced Medical Technology Association, said in a statement.
A news release noted that Boston’s AdvaMed hosting news was announced at Fenway Park with a gathering of medical device industry players.
