Constant Contact Inc., a Waltham-based marketing tools developer for small businesses, has opened its fifth U.S. office, in New York City, following its $15 million acquisition of New York-based Bantam Live in February, the company announced today. The new site will support its Ruby on Rails development team.
Bantam Live was a contact management and social CRM company built on Ruby on Rails. Constant Contact said it plans to use its New York City office for its Ruby on Rails team, which will combine the social CRM technology with the company’s email marketing, social media marketing, event marketing and online survey tools. The Bantam Live employees are expected to move into the new New York office, per an earlier report.
Constant Contact (Nasdaq: CTCT) said it expects to hire engineers for Ruby on Rails development.
In October 2009, Mass High Tech awarded Constant Contact CEO Gail Goodman an All-Star award for her efforts in building the small-business email marketing software and online survey business. The company went public in 2007, raising $108 million in its IPO.
