Inforonics management buys company, becomes Inforonics Global Services
By Rodney H. Brown
Management has acquired Inforonics LLC of Littelton and rebranded it as Inforonics Global Services LLC. Management tapped a private investment group to help with the buyout, but no financial details were released.
According to a press release, Bruce Mills will continue as Inforonics’ president and COO and become a board member of the new company
Inforonics is an outsourced IT services provider specializing in management and branded technical support. In February of 2008, LiveWire Mobile, then a newly-launched division of NMS Communications Inc. in Framingham, picked Inforonics LLC to be its managed data center service provider. Terms of the agreement called for Inforonics to provide server and device management for LiveWire Mobile’s servers, firewalls, load balancers and switches that are hosted remotely in the company’s New York and California data centers.
Founded in 1962 by MIT graduate Larry Buckland, Inforonics has been built on the management of complex IT infrastructures. In 1975, Inforonics created one of the first data publishing and retrieval systems, serving organizations such as the U.S. Library of Congress and the Boston Public Library. The company focuses on data center management for large companies.
