MakeMeSustainable sold to N.J. energy, water monitoring firm
By Michelle Lang
MakeMeSustainable, a Boston provider of energy and environmental assessment software and services, has been acquired by Noveda Technologies Inc., a real-time energy and water monitoring company in Branchburg, N.J.
Specific financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the two companies did note in a press release that a combination of Noveda stock and cash covered the acquisition. As part of the deal, MakeMeSustainable’s founders and employees will join the Noveda team immediately.
Funded by Beacon Angels of Boston, MakeMeSustainable (MMS) was founded in 2007 by CEO Benjamin Brown, COO David Delcourt and Chief Creative Officer Adam Brown. The startup was developed with a carbon and energy portfolio manager designed to give users a way to visualize their environmental impact. One of its tools, Effacility, provides an analysis of energy and water use by a company or organization. MMS also has a carbon calculator and social network that can be used to share energy-saving tips.
Noveda officials said the MMS acquisition would allow the company to combine the MMS online portal and social network with its own real-time energy and water monitoring. The New Jersey firm also has offices in the U.K., India and Israel.
