The Optical Systems Division of Zygo Corp. has landed an extension order – and $3 million to go along with it – from Commissariat à l’énergie atomique (CEA). The order is for Zygo’s meter class laser fusion amplifiers and will support the French government’s Laser Mégajoule Program.
The Middlefield, Conn.-based company is a global supplier of design and manufacturing services, optical metrology instruments and precision optics. The services and supplies are geared toward the biomedical, scientific, semiconductor capital equipment and industrial markets.
The deal with CEA began in 2007 and is planned for completion in 2014.
In January 2010, Zygo (Nasdaq: ZIGO) named Chris Koliopoulos as president and CEO, at the same time that the company acquired optical metrology systems maker Zemetrics Inc.
