Sustainable Real Estate Solutions Inc. (SRS), a developer of building energy efficiency and sustainability management software, has received a $400,000 investment from Connecticut Innovations Inc. (CI) of Rocky Hill, Conn.
The Trumbull, Conn.-based software-as-a-service company focuses on energy assessments of commercial real estate properties for building owners, tenants, lenders, operators and investors. Its platform, Sustainable Real Estate Manager, integrates a database of more than 120,000 buildings and uses Energy Star, LEED, ASTM, ASHRAE and CMP Green Building Underwriting standards.
The $400,000 funding, a follow-on investment, comes to SRS through the Connecticut Clean Tech Fund of CI, the state’s venture capital arm. CI made a previous investment of $500,000 in May 2010. That funding for SRS rounded out to $800,000, including backing from Cambridge-based LaunchCapital LLC.
Sustainable Real Estate Solutions founder and CEO Brian McCarter was a part of the founding team at Environmental Data Resources Inc., another Connecticut Innovations portfolio company.
