Startup Watch: Five you should follow

DealBird: Founded in 2010, DealBird, which has offices in Providence, California and Illinois, has developed a group buying web site for people who all want to buy the same thing.

GrabCAD: Founded in 2009, Boston-based GrabCAD offers a free CAD model library with open source CAD files available for different software programs and a marketplace for engineers to sell their services and a community to share ideas and support.

Senexx Inc.: Senexx is a cloud-based service that identifies individuals with knowledge and/or expertise of certain subjects in an organization. The company, located in both Cambridge and Israel, was founded in March 2011.

VeloBit Inc.: Founded in 2010, Boxborough-based VeloBit is a data storage firm that it says enables Solid State Disk use without requiring customers to change storage systems.

Zome Energy Networks: Founded in 2008 and located in Nashua, N.H., Zome Energy Networks provides software as a service, focused on demand response and energy management, to electrical utility companies.
