Polaris makes Trevisan a general partner

By Michelle Lang

Polaris Venture Partners has named Jason Trevisan as general partner of the Waltham-based venture capital firm.

Trevisan, a former principal who joined the firm in 2003, has focused on startup investments mainly in consumer Internet, social commerce, software as a service and consumer healthcare. He holds seats on the board of directors of LegalZoom, Life Line Screening, PartsSource, ShoeDazzle and SnappCloud.

Before Polaris, Trevisan held an executive role at digital marketing service and tech firm aQuantive, which was bought by Microsoft Corp. in 2007. He also worked as a consultant at Bain & Company. He earned an MBA from Dartmouth College’s Tuck School of Business.

Polaris Venture Partners, founded in 1996, closed its Seattle office last month after 15 years in the area.
