Spectra Analysis launches $3 million round

By James M. Connolly

Marlborough’s Spectra Analysis Instruments Inc. has raised $913,927 of a planned $3 million equity and options round, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company manufactures Molecular Analysis Instrumentation, which is designed for use in advanced gas and liquid chromatography applications for life sciences companies and other industries.

The SEC filing didn’t indicate who has bought the initial $900,000 of equity and options.

In 2009, Spectra Analysis Instruments was one of the first seven recipients of accelerator program loans awarded by the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center.
