Bentley University is launching its Center for Women and Business to help develop female and male leaders in business. The center got a boost from a $1 million donation by PwC US, in addition to major contributions from Bentley parents Jack and Pam Cumming and Class of 1973 alumni Steven and Christine Manfredi.
Betsy Myers, former senior advisor and COO to Barack Obama’s Presidential Campaign, will take the founding director post for the Waltham university’s new center. She also held an earlier role as executive director of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and as senior adviser to former President Bill Clinton.
Bentley noted in a press release today that the center will promote shared leadership between men and women, with a focus on growing opportunities for women in business, non-profit and public policy sectors. PwC outlined the focus areas for the Center for Women and Business as covering education, thought leadership and advocacy areas.
