Cloud computing and managed hosting services provider Windstream Hosted Solutions LLC has opened a new data center in Charlestown, which adds 10,000 square feet of space to the company’s footprint in Boston.

Windstream said the company now has 25,000 square feet of space in Boston, and that the new data center features sustainable technologies such as efficient cooling and high-efficiency uninterruptable power supplies and emergency generators.

The Raleigh, N.C., company said it is experiencing growth as more companies begin to adopt cloud computing in the 11 U.S. cities where it has data centers; It recently opened its third data center in Charlotte, N.C. and has another data center under construction in Little Rock, Ark.
