Q1 Labs Inc., a network security management company in Waltham, has promoted Brendan Hannigan to the role of CEO of the company. He previously served as president and chief operating officer.
As part of the shifting roles, Shaun McConnon, the previous CEO of Q1 Labs, will become executive chairman of the board.
Hannigan has worked for Q1 Labs since 2003, when he joined as vice president of marketing before moving to an executive vice president of marketing and product engineering position. Prior to 2003, he held senior product development and marketing roles at Sockeye Networks, Forrester Research Inc., Wellfleet Communications, Digital Equipment Corp. and Motorola.
In January, Q1 Labs shifted other executive positions when it named Brian Cohen, former Segway Inc. finance head, as chief financial officer, taking over from Bob Fincke, who became vice president of financial operations.
Privately held Q1 Labs, which makes its flagship network security product QRadar, is backed by Waltham’s Polaris Venture Partners, Boston’s Globespan Capital Partners and the New Brunswick Investment Management Corp.
