GT Solar rakes in another order from South Korea

By Kyle Alspach

GT Solar International Inc. (Nasdaq: SOLR) said Wednesday it has received its largest order to date for polysilicon production equipment and technology, a $228 million contract from a South Korean customer.

The Merrimack, N.H.-based company said the order comes from South Korea-based polysilicon producer OCI Company Ltd., which GT Solar described as a “long-time valued partner.”

It was the second order announcement this week for the company. GT Solar said Monday it has signed new contracts worth $84.3 million for its solar wafer production equipment lines.
