Brain focused BeCaid joins incubator

By James Connolly

Yale University spinout BeCaid LLC, which is working on brain development programs that are tied to physical exercise, has become the latest member of Connecticut Innovations’ CTech@Science Park incubator at Yale in New Haven, Conn.

The first product for BeCaid, led by CEO Kenneth Coleman, is designed to improve the learning ability of elementary school children and to help in identifying and treating children with ADHD. Its computer games incorporate physical exercises with cognitive functions, adjusting the difficulty to the capability of the child and provide corrective messaging and online error diagnostics for the child and teacher.

Connecticut Innovations is a quasi-public organization that invests in early stage Connecticut technology companies, university/industry research collaborations, technology transfer, and clean energy initiatives, and fosters collaboration among government, business, nonprofit and academic organizations.

CTech@Science Park is a 4,000-square foot facility housing nine early stage businesses in the information technology and medical device sectors.
