Less than a week after taking in a sizable debt and equity financing, Billerica’s PlumChoice Inc. reports it has purchased the Swedish company Tific AB for an undisclosed amount.
According to PlumChoice officials, Tific makes self-service and self-healing IT tools for automated IT support. The company will operate as a separate unit under PlumChoice, and Pär Ribbner, former CEO of Tific, who will assume the roles of president of Tific and senior vice president at PlumChoice.
Just one week ago, PlumChoice raised $25.6 million in a new round of funding, in which M/C Venture Partners, Gold Hill Capital and Eastward Capital joined previous backers in the round. At the time, the company said in a press release that the funds would be used to add to the platform services the company offers. That platform, called SAFELink, is a remote help desk technology allows companies to provide outsourced support for software and technology such as PCs, peripherals, digital cameras and smart phones.
Tific’s automated IT support will be integrated with SAFELink, PlumChoice officials said.
Last November PlumChoice purchased Everon Technology Services, a Colorado-based IT managed service provider, for an undisclosed amount. Mike Cooch, president and founder of Everon, joined PlumChoice as vice president/general manager, business services. The company has brought in a total of about $56 million in financing since it was founded in 2004.
