Digital Lumens gets European OK to sell LED lighting

By Kyle Alspach

Digital Lumens Inc. announced Thursday that it plans to begin selling its high-efficiency LED lighting systems in Europe.

The Boston-based company said its products have been certified by European authorities for safety, health, environment and consumer protection, through a CE listing.

Digital Lumens identified French firm LED-Solution LibertyLum as a reseller partner for the products. “Entry into Europe is the next step in Digital Lumens’ strategy to make its solution available around the world,” the company said in its announcement.

The announcement follows the April disclosure that the company had raised $10 million in Series B funding.

The company has said it can cut energy cost by as much as 90 percent with its technology. The systems combine LED technology with networking and software, to create a super-efficient lighting system that can be easily controlled wirelessly, CEO Tom Pincince has said.
