GT Solar International Inc. (Nasdaq: SOLR) said Wednesday that it has received its second major order this week, this one for advanced sapphire crystallization furnaces totaling $218.9 million.
The Merrimack, N.H.-based company said the order for the LED equipment is from Guizhou Haotian Optoelectronics Technology Co. LTD of China. It’s the company’s fifth order for LED equipment since late 2010.
It’s also the company’s largest order so far for LED equipment, topping the $84 million order the company received in December.
Also this week, GT Solar said it had received a $93.9 million order for polysilicon production equipment and technology from a Taiwan-based company.
