Alnylam forms research deal with Precision NanoSystems

Cambridge RNAi-focused therapeutics firm Alnylam Pharmaceuticals Inc. has formed a collaboration deal with Vancouver-based Precision NanoSystems Inc. The collaboration centers around small lipid nanoparticle (sLNPs) development using microfluidics.

A news release from both companies today pointed out the potential growth in biodistribution applications for sNLPs.

No financial terms of the deal were disclosed.

The collaboration marks the latest in a series of research deals Alnylam has made with Canadian companies. Earlier this month, Alnylam extended a research collaboration with AlCana Technologies Inc. and The University of Britich Columbia and focused on RNAi therapeutics delivery from catatonic lipids used in lipid nanoparticles.
