Cambridge Technology Partners co-founder Bill Seibel is one of the founders behind a new mobile development shop, Mobiquity Inc., that this morning announced it is launching with $5 million in funding from Longworth Venture Partners of Waltham and Sigma Partners of Boston.
Seibel’s co-founder at Mobiquity is Scott Snyder, former president of Breakthru Advisors and CEO of Decision Strategies International, where he also ran a subsidiary unit. The new company will focus on developing a mobile strategy on iPhone, iPad, Android and Blackberry for Global 2000 companies, according to a press release.
A serial entrepreneur, Seibel’s last startup was Demantra, a supply-chain software company located in Waltham, which was acquired by Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) in 2006 for undisclosed terms. Demantra raised at least $35.5 million from investors including Boston’s Advent International, Israel’s Formula Ventures, The Challenge Funds and Paul Baan’s Stichting Stewardship Foundation, as well as strategic investors Cargill and Intel Capital.
Snyder was recently the CEO of a new subsidiary of business planning consultants Decision Strategies International (DSI). The subsidiary, called Strategic Radar, was founded in 2005 to develop software for monitoring strategy and business objectives, according to the company’s website. Snyder also founded Breakthru Advisors, a technology consultancy to large companies.
Longworth partner Paul Margolis and Sigma managing director Robert Davoli will take board seats at Mobiquity.
Editor's note: An earlier online version of this story misidentified Scott Snyder's role at Strategic Radar. He was CEO of Strategic Radar, according to a Mobiquity spokeswoman.
