Mass Energy Lab growing facility, staff exponentially

By Kyle Alspach

Cambridge-based Mass Energy Lab Inc., which tests and markets energy efficiency products for commercial facilities, plans to move into a new facility that’s more than triple in size while nearly doubling its staff in coming months.

CEO Mo Nariani said the company will be adding four employees by the summer to the company’s current five. By April, Mass Energy Lab will also be moving into a new location in East Cambridge with 2,500 square feet of space, compared to the 800-square-foot facility occupied by the firm now, Nariani said.

Mass Energy Lab refers to itself as “a test bed for the sea of energy efficiency products that promise to reduce energy costs and increase building performance.” The company says it is focused on “identifying, testing, and facilitating the installation of innovative energy efficiency and cleantech products suited for large scale commercial facilities.”

The company is now marketing its first product, LumiSmart, an intelligent lighting controller developed by Cavet Technologies of Toronto.
