Mercury Computer Systems today assigned a price to its previously announced common stock offering, setting the mark at $17.75 per share for 4.85 million shares, for a total value of about $86 million.
The Chelmsford company, which builds subsystems for applications such as sonar and radar, plans to use the proceeds general corporate purposes. The number of shares is higher than originally announced earlier this week when the company said it was offering 4 million shares. Mercury also granted the underwriters a 30-day option to purchase an additional 727,500 shares.
The offering is expected to close next week.
Last month, Mercury (Nasdaq: MRCY) acquired a New Hampshire-based manufacturer of digital and radio frequency components, LNX Corp., for $31 million in cash.
