ImmunoGen Inc. has brought in a new leader to aid the Waltham biotech in its regulatory development of products.
Theresa Wingrove has been named vice president of regulatory affairs for the company. She previously held a similar role as VP of regulatory and clinical affairs at Histogenics Corp., another Waltham biotech. She has also worked as senior director of regulatory and clinical affairs at MediSpectra. Wingrove earned a doctorate degree in biochemical toxicology from the University of Rochester.
“Her addition to our team is particularly timely in light of our programs to aggressively advance our lead compound – IMGN901 – and our expectation that we’ll double the number of compounds we have in the clinic by early 2012,” said ImmunoGen President and CEO Daniel Junius, in a press release.
ImmunoGen (Nasdaq: IMGN) announced late last year that it had begun a clinical trial of its small-cell lung cancer treatment, IMGN901. It also agreed to work with Novartis on targeted anticancer therapeutics developed using ImmunoGen’s Targeted Antibody Payload (TAP) technology, in a deal potentially worth nearly $250 million – and potentially much more.
