Web publishing startup EditMe sold to consulting shop

By Galen Moore

Web consultants Wakefly Inc. has acquired tiny EditMe Inc., a two-person Maynard software company, launched in 2002, that counts a handful of young Boston-area tech companies among its customers.

EditMe makes collaborative web content management system (CMS) software designed to support fast publishing of blogs, wikis and websites with multi-user control. Founder Matt Wiseley joins the 21-person Wakefly as the Westborough company’s new CTO in charge of developing products.

EditMe’s customer list includes Providence, R.I. social CRM startup BatchBlue, Dedham email archiving software maker Sonian, Beverly financial services technology provider Derivix and Appligent, a PDF add-on software maker with offices in Boston and Pennsylvania.

In a press release emailed to reporters today, Wakefly CEO Dean Dorazio said the company plans to continue to support the EditMe offering and develop new additions to it.
