

MoFuse Inc., of Providence, R.I., has taken in $1.2 million in a planned $1.4 million financing apparently from angel investors, according to federal documents.
While the 33 investors in the new round are not identified in the filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, listed as directors of MoFuse are Neal Frankel of Cherrystone Angel Group LLC and Joseph Gallagher of Angel Street Capital LLC, both based in Providence.
MoFuse has developed a mobile content and application creation platform that allows a company or organization to port its web content to mobile devices “in minutes,” according to the company’s website. The company was founded by CTO David Berube in 2007 and received $100,000 in seed funding in 2008 from the Slater Technology Fund, an early-stage fund backed by the state of Rhode Island.
Running MoFuse as CEO is Annette Tonti, the co-founder and former CEO of Providence-based digital media marketing firm Bluestreak Inc., and former executive producer at the MIT Media Lab. The company, which also provides hosting services for the sites that use its mobile creation tool, boasts on its website that it is host to more than 40,000 mobile sites from 148 different countries. Among the clients it touts are the Harvard Business School, InformationWeek and the Atlanta Falcons.
