Dell to buy InSite One

By Michelle Lang

Dell Inc. (Nasdaq: DELL) is planning to acquire InSite One, a cloud-based medical archiving firm in Wallingford, Conn., according to a news release from the Texas company.

InSite One develops cloud-based, vendor-neutral archive software that it says will allow medical professionals to share images for diagnosis and treatments. The company reports about 800 clinical sites are using its technology, which includes 55 million clinical studies and 3.6 billion medical images.

No financial terms of the acquisition deal were disclosed. The addition of InSite One is expected to bring healthcare customers to Dell and help save money with the cloud-based archiving, according to the news release.
