
NaviSite Inc. of Andover has sold its Dallas colocation business to Cologix Dallas Inc., a subsidiary of Cologix Inc., for $12.75 million in cash, and all NaviSite Dallas colocation customers have now been transferred to Cologix as part of the deal.
Denver-based Cologix is also taking over NaviSite’s lease at the Dallas data center. According to NaviSite (Nasdaq: NAVI) officials, the net proceeds from the sale will be used to repay debt. NaviSite continue to bandwidth to the facility the Cologix facility in Dallas.
NaviSite, which is focused on enterprise-class hosting, managed application, managed messaging and managed cloud services, said the sale to Cologix is part of its continuing plan to divest its colocation-only data centers and focus on complex hosting, application management and cloud solutions for enterprise clients.”
In August, NaviSite announced that then CEO Arthur P. Becker had stepped down and was replaced by company president R. Brooks Borcherding, with Becker remaining on the board of directors.
NaviSite, founded in 1996, rejected a $72 million buyout offer in July from New York-based Atlantic Investors, which already owns 36.6 percent of NaviSite’s 37.68 million outstanding shares.
