MHT's Galen Moore: Mass. companies building to be sold
How Massachusetts is landing stimulus funding
Anita Brearton of the Boston office of angel capital group Golden Seeds has been named to a three-year term on the board of directors of the Angel Capital Association of North America, based in Kansas City, Mo.
Brearton is a managing director and the Boston Forum Leader of Golden Seeds, a Connecticut-based angel investment group that provides early stage and growth capital to women-led businesses across various industry sectors. She also works with technology startup companies as a marketing and strategy consultant and with the Simmons Graduate Entrepreneurship program at Simmons College as a coach and mentor to budding entrepreneurs.
Previously, Brearton served as vice president of corporate marketing at Sycamore Networks Inc. of Chelmsford, where she led the company’s marketing strategy from its launch through its initial public offering.
Golden Seeds was launched in 2005 and has invested in a number or Massachusetts startups, including Cambridge-based semantic search company Crimson Hexagon Inc., Lexington online marketplace Daily Grommet, and Salem-based custom clothing design website company Fashion Playtes Inc.
