Print Edition StoriesBuyWithMe Inc., the venture-backed competitor to Groupon and LivingSocial, has apparently replaced its CEO and moved its headquarters from Boston to New York.
The departure of CEO Cheryl Rosner was first reported by Business Insider on Tuesday. Rosner had joined BuyWithMe around July, when the company closed a $16 million Series B round of financing led by Bain Capital Ventures of Boston, following fast on an April A round, worth $5.5 million, led by Matrix Partners of Waltham. Some time since then, the company quietly picked up stakes and moved to New York.
BuyWithMe offers a group-discount marketing service similar to Chicago-based Groupon, which reportedly turned down a $6 billion acquisition offer from Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG) earlier this month. According to the company’s website, former chief of product David Wolfe has taken over the CEO position. The site’s contacts page also lists a New York address for the company.
Founder Andrew Moss could not be reached this morning with questions about the fate of the company’s Boston office or employees there.
