Imaging technology company FLIR Systems Inc. has purchased a 137,000 square foot building in Nashua, N.H., from Campanelli Cos. that it will use to combine its three area locations into a single office.
The cost of the purchase of the 9 Townsend West site was not disclosed. Campanelli and Dallas-based partner TriGate Capital acquired the building in September when they bought a group of properties from the GS Portfolio.
The building is currently occupied by a unit of Hopkinton-based EMC Corp.
FLIR (Nasdaq: FLIR), which is based in Oregon, has facilities in the Nashua area and in North Billerica. The company specializes in thermal imaging and stabilized camera systems for customers in markets including security, enterprise and defense. The new facility will allow FLIR to consolidate its Commercial Systems division into the single facility.
In 2008, FLIR landed nearly $50 million from the U.S. Navy for imaging systems that will provide short-range ground mobility visual augmentation systems. The systems are intended to be installed on ground vehicles for short-range surveillance, identification, detection and limited tracking capabilities in any weather or lighting condition.
