Crimson Hexagon analytics platform finds play on Microsoft Bing

By Michelle Lang

Cambridge social media analytics firm Crimson Hexagon Inc. has landed a big customer in Microsoft Bing. The search engine of Microsoft Corp. is using Crimson Hexagon’s ForSight platform to conduct social media analysis.

In a press release today, Crimson Hexagon noted that its platform combed social media websites, blogs and online forums to identify where Bing’s target audience was conducting most of its conversations and who the major influencers were in those conversations.

Crimson Hexagon makes semantic software for searching and analyzing brand sentiment online.

The company was co-founded by Mass High Tech Woman to Watch Candace Fleming and Harvard University professor Gary King in 2007. In April, Crimson Hexagon announced the departure of Fleming, who served as CEO of the company, and replacement by CEO Scott Centurino. At the same time, the company also noted it had completed a $2 million financing round.
