Bennett named chief revenue officer at goby

By James M. Connolly

Activity search engine developer goby has named web industry veteran Mike Bennett as chief revenue officer, focusing on monetizing goby.com and the firm’s mobile applications.

Goby is a search engine, launched in 2009, designed to help users find information relating to free time activities on vacations or weekends.

Bennett founded healthetreatment.com, a social media startup, and also served as U.S. general manager for London-based Cheapflights.com and worked with Monster.com in roles involving business development, general management, sales, and mergers and acquisitions.

Goby is a privately held company whose investors include Flybridge Capital Partners and Kepha Partners. Last month, goby took in $2.5 million from those two investors, bringing its total funding to $7.5 million.
