Cambridge-based startup Micronotes Inc. has formed a distribution partnership with Yodlee Inc., an online financial management services provider based in Redwood City, Calif.
Under the agreement, Yodlee’s online banking platform will include Micronotes’ launch product KulaMula, an application that prompts consumers to participate in 30-second micro-interviews, for which the consumer is compensated for their time in a cash payment and/or customized offers. In return, Yodlee will collect a percentage of revenue generated by the application. The KulaMula app will be available through the Yodlee MoneyCenter in December 2010 and through financial institutions in 2011.
In July, Micronotes landed $1.6 million in funding, adding to a $301,000 equity round it closed in December of 2009, which it later bumped up to $450,000 in January 2010. The company was founded in 2008 by CEO Devon Kinkead, who previously founded Extraction Systems Inc., and is located at the Cambridge Innovation Center.
