Communispace Inc. announced this morning it has appointed former Molecular Inc. president Howard Kogan as its chief technology and strategy officer. Kogan’s move to the Watertown online consumer market research company will not be a difficult one, at least physically: Communispace’s headquarters are next door to Molecular’s in the Arsenal office park.
Although Kogan left in January, web and mobile developer Molecular has not listed a replacement on its website. That’s not surprising, as officials at the company have said they are moving toward closer integration with Isobar, an interactive development division of the UK-based marketing and communications company Aegis Group plc.
Molecular has operated with a high degree of independence since its acquisition by Aegis in 2005 for $31.5 million. Molecular co-founder Ralph Folz left the company last December, shortly before Kogan.
In a press release issued early this morning, Communispace CEO Diane Hessan said Kogan will help the company develop new software for its customers.
