The Pitch: $625,000
In the company’s own words:
“My Life List provides goal-achievement solutions for individuals and businesses through its proven methodology, proprietary technology and the power of social networking. Online social networking has seen exponential growth: Facebook and MySpace mastered the past (look at what I did), Twitter has mastered the current (here is what I’m doing), and My Life List will master the future (this is what I want to do).”
The technology:
My Life List is a website that uses the power of social networking to help people accomplish their goals. Members of the site can create lists of things they would like to try or accomplish and share those lists with others on the site. Once they have added items to their list, they are prompted to pick three items to focus on. For each item, they are given a page to record their reason for wanting to accomplish that goal, list out the steps necessary to achieve it and note any barriers to doing so. Once members accomplish their goals, they can share their experiences in pictures and stories on the website. In future site developments, users with similar goals who live in close proximity will be able to find and connect with each other. The site will also include an informed navigation tool to provide users with offers from nearby companies based upon their listed goals. It will include links to local companies that other users have tried and reviewed in accomplishing their life list goals. Language software developer Rosetta Stone recently partnered with MLL to offer products for members with the goal of learning a new language. MLL is also developing a premium application for a Boston-based group of researchers to be launched in October 2010.
People behind the company:

Roger Hardy is the chairman of the company’s advisory board. He is the founder and CEO of the optical supply company Coastal Contacts.
The pitch:
My Life List LLC is seeking $625,000 in angel and venture capital. It plans to focus efforts on increasing traffic to the site to generate new memberships. The company is expecting to reach profitability in March 2011.

My Life List is targeting men and women, ages 18 to 45, as part of the self-improvement market that Starr said is an $11 billion industry.
