Dympol Inc. represents a new way to buy online digital products such as music, videos, tickets, and books– aligning the needs of consumers, brand marketers, and content owners into what founder and CEO Jay Ziskrout calls a “mutually beneficial ecosystem.” Currently in early stages of development, Dympol’s business model enables marketers to target their desired demographic by sponsoring custom-tailored discounts through online retailers for whatever digital products their potential customers are buying.
Ziskrout recently likened Dympol to a Google Adwords for corporate entertainment sponsorships. The personalized “microsponsorships” can be bought for pennies at a time. Those pennies show up to the consumer as a subsidy for songs they buy through websites or through Dympol’s browser toolbar. The consumer gets a cheaper song, the corporate sponsor gets analytical market data, and musicians get money (rather than nothing in the case of online piracy).
From the top, CEO Jay Ziskrout: “We can help brands connect to a broad range of customers through whatever content they actually buy, not what the marketers think they will buy,” said Ziskrout. “$54 billion of brand advertising is currently being spent incredibly inefficiently. We represent the future of brand advertising.”
