Sigma backs $4M financing of speech analytics firm

By Michelle Lang

Boston venture capital firm Sigma Partners has joined Durham, N.C.-based Intersouth Partners and Orlando, Fla.-based Inflexion Partners in funding a $4 million Series C financing round for Florida speech analytics company CallMiner Inc.

The investment is expected to help fund CallNiner’s growth and expansion plans, the company reported in a press release.

CallMiner develops its Eureka speech analytics platform, which automatically pulls out information from customer calls.

Founded in 1984, Sigma Partners invests in early-stage firms with its $2 billion in managed funds. Currently, the VC firm is making investments with its $500 million Sigma Fund 8, raised in 2007.
